A Sunny spring Celebration at Spring Hill Barn: Betina & Cody’s Beach-Themed Barn Wedding
Weddings are a reflection of a couple's heart—and Betina and Cody’s celebration at Spring Hill Barn in Staunton, Virginia was full of love, laughter, and the kind of joyful, sun-drenched moments that make our job as photographers feel like pure magic. From the moment we arrived that warm spring morning, we could feel the excitement buzzing through the air. The sun was high, the skies were clear, and the rolling hills around the barn stretched wide and golden—like the day itself was eager to celebrate right alongside them.
As a team of two photographers, we always divide and conquer at the start of the day, ensuring that every little detail is captured—the quiet moments, the bursts of laughter, and everything in between. While one of us focused on Betina’s final touches—her soft curls being pinned into place, her beachy bouquet resting on a nearby mantle—the other was outside photographing the delicate details: the rings, the invitation suite, and the floral arrangements that hinted at the couple’s ocean-loving hearts. This was Betina and Cody’s love story through and through.

The Flower Girl… and the Flower Pup
When the ceremony began, guests took their seats facing the open field behind the barn, where rows of white chairs were framed by gentle hills and a wooden arbor dressed in soft linen and blooms. And then came one of our favorite moments of the day—Betina and Cody’s flower girl made her entrance, but she didn’t come alone. Trotting behind her was the couple’s beloved dog, who proudly served as the flower pup.
This wasn’t just any flower pup—this sweet girl rolled down the aisle in a custom wheelchair, tail wagging and tongue lolling as if she knew she had an important role to play. The guests melted. And so did we.

“At Last” and Forever Begins
As the final notes of the flower pup’s entrance faded away, the music shifted. “At Last” began to play, and everyone turned as Betina stepped into the sunlight, arm in arm with her mother and daughter. There’s something timeless about that song—soulful, tender, and full of promise—and it fit this moment perfectly. Cody’s nervousness washed away as he watched his bride walk toward him, and Betina beamed, radiant and steady. Their ceremony was sweet and heartfelt. They exchanged their vows, each one brimming with gratitude, warmth, and genuine joy. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house—or the sunny grass, in this case—by the time they sealed their vows with a kiss and were officially pronounced husband and wife.

A Barn Reception with a Beachy Twist
The reception kicked off shortly after the ceremony, inside the beautifully restored barn. The space was a blend of rustic charm and beach-themed whimsy—think grassy centerpieces, sandy-toned linens, and seashell accents scattered throughout the decor. Betina and Cody had clearly put so much heart into curating every element.
Dinner was a crowd-pleasing barbecue spread, complete with pulled pork, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and green beans—the kind of hearty, comforting fare that just feels right for a warm spring evening. Guests gathered at farm tables, laughing and sharing stories while sipping cold drinks and soaking in the golden light pouring through the open barn doors.
And then there was the cake. A sweet creation adorned with sea-colored frosting joined by cupcakes. It was playful, nostalgic, and utterly “them.”

Toasts, First Dances & Golden Hour Magic
The toasts that followed were among the most touching we’ve heard this season. They are so loved by everyone in their lives, and it shows. They opened the floor for anyone to speak, and so many folks stepped up to tell them just how much they were adored.
The first dance was intimate and slow, just the two of them swaying under string lights, completely in sync. As photographers, we live for these little, unscripted moments—the hand squeeze between dances, the teary smiles from the sidelines.
After dinner and dances, we snuck the couple away for sunset photos in the field behind the barn. The light was soft, bathing everything in a warm, dreamy glow. Betina and Cody laughed easily as they ran through the grass and twirled barefoot. Those few quiet moments away from the crowd were some of our favorites from the day—just the two of them, newly married, hearts wide open to everything ahead.

Cornhole, Fire Pits & Dancing the Night Away
Back at the barn, the party was in full swing. Guests played cornhole in the yard, sipping drinks and enjoying the cooling evening air. A fire pit crackled nearby, with friends gathering around to chat. The mix of barn wedding coziness and beachy laid-back vibes made it all feel incredibly welcoming.
As the night wore on, the dance floor filled with guests of all ages—barefoot bridesmaids, parents twirling, toddlers spinning in circles. Betina and Cody were in the center of it all, smiling from ear to ear.

A Wedding as Warm as the Sun
Every wedding we photograph is unique, but some linger in our memory just a little longer—and this one absolutely will. Betina and Cody’s wedding was a perfect blend of elegant and easygoing, full of meaningful touches, big-hearted people, and a whole lot of fun. It reminded us why we love what we do: we get to tell stories like theirs. Stories full of laughter and love, beachy cakes and barn backdrops, flower pups and forever vows.
To Betina and Cody—thank you for trusting us with your day. You radiate love, not just for each other, but for every creature you meet and every person lucky enough to be in your orbit. We’re so glad we got to be part of your story.
